Scripture: Psalm 119:105

Key Insight: God’s Word illuminates our path in life.

Introduction:

Ever tried driving without GPS and ended up somewhere you didn’t plan to go? Yeah, me too. Psalm 119:105 tells us, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (ESV). The Bible is your spiritual GPS, keeping you on track and out of the proverbial ditch.

Reflection:

Life is full of twists and turns. Without God’s Word, we’re like road-trippers with a paper map in the dark—lost and frustrated. But when you let Scripture guide you, it’s like flipping on the high beams. Suddenly, the path becomes clear.
Think back on times when you had a big decision to make. Did you turn to God’s Word for guidance, or did you wing it? (No shame—we’ve all been there.) This verse reminds us that Scripture doesn’t just give advice; it lights the way forward, step by step.

What Does REAP Mean?

Your guide to traveling light (pun intended):

  • Reflect: How does this verse resonate with your current situation?
  • Examine: What does it mean for God’s Word to be a lamp and light?
  • Apply: Where do you need more clarity in your life right now?
  • Pray: Thank God for His guidance and ask Him to keep illuminating your path.

Daily REAP Instruction: Reflect on a past decision you made with the help of Scripture. Journal about how God’s Word made a difference and where you need His light today.

Reflective Questions:

  • When have you felt lost and turned to God’s Word for direction?
  • How can you make Scripture your go-to guide moving forward?

Devotional Questions:

  • What area of your life feels “dim” right now, and how can God’s Word bring clarity?
  • How does it encourage you to know that God’s guidance is always available?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me Your Word as a guide for my life. Help me to trust its wisdom and follow its light, especially when I feel uncertain or lost. Illuminate my path and keep me walking in Your truth. Amen.
